These organizations helped shaped Cuck Fancer to what it is today!
Stand Up 2 Cancer
Stand Up 2 Cancer is the first organization that inspired Cuck Fancer. The founder of Stand Up 2 Cancer, Laura Ziskin, was a true philanthropist. Her dream, that lives on today, is to bring together the best and the brightest doctors and cancer researchers sharing information in a collaborative format to find an end to Cancer. Among the many goals of SU2C is to put 100% of their donations toward cancer research. They fund some of the most advanced research in the world.
Stand Up 2 Cancer, by noticing Ben’s efforts to begin his own non-profit, gave him the ability to believe in himself. They showed him that his efforts are important too and that he could begin to run a successful non-profit as well. SU2C supported Ben in ongoing ways throughout his own battles with cancer by posting his story on their website. Ben has been part of the SU2C family since 2007.
Leukemia & Lymphoma Society
The Leukemia Lymphoma Society was the first place Ben looked to when he decided to start raising money. He donated his first two thousand dollars to this organization because he knows how instrumental LLS is in the fight to find a cure for all blood cancers. LLS’s goals and endless fundraising efforts helped inspire Ben to stay connected to what is possible with Cuck Fancer.
City of Hope
The City of Hope has been a comforting place for Ben during his treatments. This hospital has the ability to make the worst time in ones life a little easier. At the COH campus, some of the most advanced research and development is taking place. Ben is also a part of the speakers’ bureau for the City of Hope. He travels across the country telling his story in support of COH and what they have done for him in an effort to continue to fund the life saving research and treatment that goes on at COH. All of the nurses and doctors have fully supported Ben and his family through the difficult times, and many nurses wear Cuck Fancer bracelets in support of Ben and his cause.
Cancer for College
Cancer for College, founded by Craig Pollard, has been a huge inspiration to Ben and his non-profit efforts. Craig pollard, a two time Hodgkin’s survivor as well, has done amazing things for young adults across the country. His organization helps young adults like Ben by assisting them financially to get back to college. Cancer for College and Craig Pollard specifically, lead by example to show Ben that giving a young adult cancer survivor a small leg up in the world can make all the difference at a time when getting back into life seems too large a task. Someday, Ben hopes to do for others what Cancer for College did for him.
